life on the non-eq list

A bit of a deviation to be sure (for one thing, I KNEW I was getting in, for a change).

But as I was sitting and reading my sides, both of the Monitors were right next to me, and one of them was teaching the other how to do a Meisner repetition exercise. I knew that one of them was learning because all I heard was:

“Is this what I do?”

“This is all you do.”

“So this is it?”

“Yeah, this is it. You’re doing great.”

“I’m doing great. This is what I do.”

Ugh!!! 

Just got this text from the other half of LOTNEL:

I’m in the super exclusive waiting room.  Yahoooo!!!

So they are, in fact, seeing non-equity today.  Yahoo indeed.

Patrick is in the process of submitting his film “25 Cents for Love” so film festivals and needs some help funding his endeavor.

Someone hastily picking out a cut for an audition that’s presumably minutes away, in comparing one cut to another option, he remarked to his friend:

Yeah, but that doesn’t go nearly high enough.  Like it doesn’t have, like, the money notes.

It’s been about 25 minutes or so and I’ve only spotted 5 black tie Mormon outfits.  Not bad!  And one or two of them might just dress that way for fun!

Text from the second half of LOTNEL:

Monitor quote of the day so far: “the last slot of the day will be at 5:50” The rest is spoken under his breath, literally to himself and literally FOR himself: “woe to you who take it.”  I don’t even really know what that means.

Sitting in the non-eq area of AEA today, someone knocked over a bottle of water on the tile floor.  The puddle was quite large and right in the middle of the pathway to the door, so the noneq with the offending water bottle went to the front desk and asked permission to use the hallowed restroom long enough to get paper towels.  She returned with five or six tiny restaurant napkins and announced, “He wouldn’t let me through, but he gave me these!”

We then proceeded to clean up the mess.  With copies of AM New York.
